Outcomes:
Time to have a cardiovascular or neurologic event, including:
death from a cardiovascular event, heart attack, stroke,
hospitalization for chest pain or heart failure, or procedure
to open a blockage in an arterial blood vessel. Risk of
developing diabetes.
Number of participants:
9518 patients with impaired glucose tolerance and age-dependent
cardiovascular risk factors.
Comparisons:
Valsartan and/or nateglinide vs placebo.
Study Design:
Randomized, double-blind, active control, parallel assignment.
